Volume 2 is loaded with 130 brand new Hollywood-worthy synths, action film and trailer sounds, beautiful piano atmospheres, complex drumloops, moving basslines. Like I said, I was very interested in some of the expansions, because they sound top-notch, but putting it all together (the basic synth plus the expansions) make it quite easily > 350 EUR and a lot more. The starting price for Nexus 4 is 249 and goes up to 4,029 based on how many presets you want. The price of the VST is high compared to other similar virtual instruments. Post-processing is where you add your own flavor. There were some good sounds without any doubt, but some are either dated or sound a little "punchless". This is something we teach our students in the Hyperbits Masterclass to do. Basically, it´s a rompler - and the standard sound (while not bad) are not what I expected. Second, I have tried Nexus2 and while I found some of the expansion packs really tempting, my personal opinion is that it´s much too expensive for what it does. They will provide you with a key for 16 hours (yup, it´s a timeframe that small) and you can at least check it out. First, let me advise you to open a support ticket with ReFX and ask them for a demo version. ![]()
